Storytelling from the Traditions

Stories make us who we are. They are loved by young and old and in every culture they are spoken and heard. They shape our identity and define communities, both making us distinct and uniting us. On Saturday 8th June, Storytelling from the Traditions provided a unique opportunity to gather with Leeds’ writers, storytellers and performers from different communities. Women and men, old and young, people from different faith communities and political backgrounds shared the stories that were important to them. The performances were interspersed with discussion times, exploring the role of story in defining identity and community.
